Health Tip!

Spread the Word...and
the BUTTER.

While peanut, soy and almond butter are not the only “butters” with health benefits, when starting any diet it is usually the first thing on the “DO NOT EAT LIST”. Instead, we purchase more expensive alternatives like Smart Balance, Olivia and other vegetable oil spreads. But by avoiding it, you are missing out on over 20 health benefits plus and having some very lonely bread.

Butter contains essential fatty acids. This increases your lifespan, aids in heart health, sharpens your vision, provides energy and balances your hormones. Butter also contains Vitamins D, E, K and A which are necessary for thyroid and adrenal health. It has antioxidants, lauric acid to prevent fungal infections and arachidonic acid for proper brain function. What we have all heard about is how it contains saturated fat and how it is not good for us. Yet, what we do not know, is these saturated fats can reduce our risk of tumors and cancer.

Ironically, one of its components is conjugated null acid aka CLA. CLA is recommended for weight loss, boosting immunity and building muscle. It can be purchased in any vitamin store or GNC under the name tonalin or CLA. The cheap way out is to add a little butter to your diet in place of another food. Don't get too excited. I’m not telling you to add some butter to your pop-tarts to lose weight. Butter, like everything else, has calories! But go ahead and erase butter of that “DO NOT EAT LIST”! Get your antioxidants, your vitamins and save some “bread” while buying the real stuff. If anyone has any suggestions or questions relating Health and Fitness, feel free to contact me. Thanks!.
